SakuraCon - 2010

Well, SakuraCon 2010 has come to a close. You know, there's nothing like that convention atmosphere to really bring a bunch of like minded people together. The two days I was there were really a lot of fun. Although I didn't make any new friends, it was exciting to walk around the huge area of the convention (the convention took up three floors of the Washington State Convention Center in downtown Seattle) and just see all the different people, literally from around the world, who were in to the same thing as me. To be honest, I was kinda embarrassed to go. I wasn't sure if I was going to be the only 40-something year old, fat, white guy there, perceived to only be there because of the overwhelming number of girls running around the place in Japanese school-girl outfits. But I wasn't the only 40-something year old fat white guy there, in fact I saw many like myself there in costume! Now don't get me wrong, as anyone could see from previous posts to this blog, I like me some Japanese schoolgirls, but everyone was there for the culture and the general commraderie of, "Hey, you're into that? I'm into that too!" Anyway, SakuraCon 2010 was a big success and, except for the 4 hour registration line on Saturday (which was kinda fun in it's own way), a whole lot of fun. Below are some pictures from SakuraCon 2010...

First there was "The Registration Line." I had been in line for about an hour when I took this picture. I had three more hours to go!

These are more pics from Saturday:

Thre rest of these are from Sunday:
