Friends don't let friends vote for Bush

I have a friend who, I’m very nearly certain, voted for Bush. He told me as recently as a week prior to the election that he was considering voting for Bush because of the terrorism issue. I’m thinking very seriously about cutting him off as a friend. You see, the problem isn’t necessarily that he voted for Bush, it’s that I no longer respect him for coming to that decision. Having succumbed to America’s jingoistic view of Muslims I now think that perhaps my friend doesn’t have the intellectual agility I originally credited to him.
Is there any one else out there who feels betrayed by a friend who voted for Bush? I’m interested in reader’s opinions on the matter so please post a comment.

My entire family voted for Bush. It's depressing..especially when I'm the one in the family that they treat like a 9year old.

I actually got my dad to come over and watch Farenheit 9/11. He got so mad at the movie, he got up and left just before he could see the part when Bush was laughing at what someone said behind the scenes right before he was about to address the nation that "Operation Shock and Aww has begun." I told him that I looked down on him for just up and leaving, not giving new knowledge a chance. "The truth hurts and lie kill" I told him.

All the political debates I've had with my family prior to November 2nd, trying to get them to open their eyes, I know I won!! They kept bringing up how they are more concerned for Americas next generation. What the fuck do they know?!

After having all that said I don't think I would cut a friend off merely from lack of knowing better. Everyone's different.

Bob Newhart - Comic Genius Passes Away

 A true comic genius has passed away today. One of the first comedy albums I remember listening to as a child is "The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart." His most famous shtick was the telephone conversation where the audience hears only his end of the call. The most famous and best of this is the " Introducing Tobacco to Civilization " skit.
