George W. Bush - Oh, that letter to Congress linking Saddam and 9/11 ... By Timothy Noah

Two days ago, President Bush told the country that the administration had never linked Saddam and Iraq with the terrorist attacks of 9/11. But Slate magazine reprints a letter to Congress, meant to justify an attack on Iraq, which proves that they did, in fact make that link. If you can't get Slate, here is the reprint: "[A]cting pursuant to the Constitution and [the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002] is consistent with the United States and other countries continuing to take the necessary actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations, or persons who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001." —President Bush, in a letter to Congress outlining the legal justification for commencing war against Iraq, March 18, 2003 Why can't these guys stop lying to the American people?

Michael Moore's New Movie

Democrats Warm To 'Fahrenheit 9/11' (washingtonpost.com) "The usual arguments against Moore -- that he's intellectually dishonest, that he's a master of the cheap shot, that he's a loudmouthed neo-Marxist boor -- are beside the point against the power of such moments. After the weapons of mass destruction fallacy and the Saddam-did-9/11 fictions, it's payback time. The left can have a Rush Limbaugh, too." -- Lifted from the Artical

Time for a Change

Follow this link for the much anticipated release of the statement by former officials from past presidential administrations, from Reagan to Clinton, calling for George Bush to be defeated. Its not as strong as I would have liked, though.

"Lies, and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them"

Some sort of popular revolt can only be a short time away as the Bush administration is shown, almost daily, to be a group of filthy liars. The 9/11 Commission shows positively that Bush lied to the country about links between Saddam Hussein's Iraq and Al Queda, among other things, in order to justify an attack on Iraq. Now, I'm no pacifist. I truly believe that sometimes, you have to kick some ass. As a sovereign nation we can not just let some terrorist assholes come over here and push us around, a la 9/11. But let's make damn sure we're bombing the right people. Invading Afghanistan was a good idea and took balls. I'll give Georgie that much. There actually were terrorist training camps there. But people were questioning Bush's allegations about the "Iraqi-Al Queda collaberation from the beginning because it smacked of "Saddam tried to kill my daddy," revenge.

Flat Tires

I an so freaking tired of flat tires! I'm thinking very seriously about demanding a voucher or something from the city for all the flat tires I get. Why should the city pay for my flat tires? Well, primarily because city code requires that I ride to the right of the lane. That is where the glass gardens grow. Glass gardens are all the glass that ends up on the right side of the lane, right where I am required to ride. See, every time one pollution machine gets into a wreck with another pollution machine, broken glass is inevitably the result. Is this glass ever cleaned up, either by the city, or by the respective pollution machine owners? Oh no. Its pushed to the right side of the lane, where I am required to ride, making my one flat tire a month a forgone conclusion. So that's it, I will start a one-man campaign to get the city to issue vouchers to every person who commutes on a bike or works on a bike. I'm thinking one tube a month, at $5.00 a tube, plus a new set

Former Officials Blast Bush

Now this is a beautiful thing. I think its really saying something that officials from past Democratic and Republican parties would come together to say what so many people have known for so long. I can't wait to see the actual release of what they have to say.
