I Don't Understand

The poll numbers are still showing Bush with a lead on the issue of national security. I don't understand how this can be. Every commission, every body assembled to look at 9/11 and the war in Iraq have produced statements saying Bush is a liar. The 9/11 Commission said Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction and there was no link to Al Queada while Bush maintained there was. In Afghanistan we let Osama get away. North Korea and Iran have been allowed to pursue nookyooler weapons programs unchecked, and the U.S. is presently more isolated in the world than it has been since before W.W.II, this time, though, its not by "our" choosing, but at the behest of the rest of the world, primarily because our president is (rightly) percieved to be a moron.

I don't know, man... I have been consumed since Thursday by an overwhelming sense of despair because I think Bush is gonna win.

Last week I was watching Lou Dobbs on CNN, and his question of the night was: If your candidate does not win, will you be able to get behind and support the President blah, blah, blah? The response was almost 100% "no." I have to say I agree. Whoever wins, 50% of the country will hate them.

God I'm depressed..................................

I've been overwhelmed by a sense of dispair ever since this morning when Bush DID win... you're right, you know the situation is completely dire when half the nation has a pit of dread in their stomach. not to mention probably half the world. and it won't go away for the next four years...
the cow bike is at least funny.

Donald Rumsfeld on CNN

8:15AM Pacific Time: Sittin here watchin Wolf interview Rummy on Late Edition, and Rummy is talking about why it's not a good idea to pull out of Iraq right now. He's talking about, and I paraphrase, "If we establish a timeline for pull-out, then we're telling the insurgents that they only have to wait until we're gone, and if we do that, they will wait, and then unleash a blood bath when we're gone." Goddamit, I hate it when I have to agree with one of these trolls. But, sadly, no matter how much we hate the Bush administration, truth, from any source is still truth. And the truth is, the insurgents will wait, and they will unleash a blood-bath. What Rummy doesn't say is, all that will be our fault. I have to say it, though it pains me to do so, I do think it's irresponsible to call for an immediate troop withdrawal from Iraq, because of what I said above. I believe that what the democrats need to keep harping on is the fact that pre-war intell...

How Boring

OK, so I decided that I wasn't going to write anything political, that I was just gonna write about personal stuff. And I haven't written a thing in two weeks. How boring is my life? But I've got some stuff coming.....

Ch-Ch-Changes

Nearing 40 years of age, I have learned that most all good things must come to an end. Good places to be, good friends, good lovers, good times, they come and they go. And so it is with careers sometimes too. A few weeks ago, the company I work for had a company wide meeting of all departments to announce impending lay-offs. And for a variety of reasons, I think I'm for the chop. Technology is to blame. We used to be in and out of the Federal courts all the time, filing cases and retrieving documents and doing all the things that legal messengers do. But now electronic signatures are recognized as legal, so lawyers can electronically file those documents without leaving their office, or having to pay us to do it, so they don't have to leave their office. DAMN YOU INTERWEB! We are already seeing the loss of revenue from this. Anyway, sooner or later this will be the case in all the courts. As I understand it, the reason its not already is because the Feds only recognized certain...
