Summer Going Well

Well, how is everyone's summer going? My summer is going very well. My internship with the Washington State Democrats is going very well; I'm learning quite a lot. The Dems will be moving to a new office space next week, so I will be setting up a practice network this week to try to anticipate problems for when we set up the new network. I must confess to being very nervous about setting up this new network. I don't want to be responsible for the Dems losing any races because I fucked up the network! I doubt it would be that bad, like I said, I'm just nervous. Every one I work with is very cool and I'm really enjoying the learning experience.

Eurosport Summer

What with The French Open, Wimbledon, the World Cup, and the Tour de France, my DVR is really getting a workout!

The World Cup was so much fun this year! Yes, yes, The US team sucked, but it was still fun to watch. I would have liked to see the championship match be between Germany and France, with France winning, but oh well.

And how about Floyd Landis in the Tour? I don't know if he really has a chance at winning this year, but it would be cool to see an American other than Lance Armstrong win. That would drive the French crazy because they see an opportunity to win one for the home team this year what with Lance not racing. It seems to me that the field is pretty wide open with Lance gone, any one could win it this year.

Well I suppose that's all I've got for now.

Away Too Long

I know...I know, its been far too long since my last post. But I'm here now and I'll catch you up on everything. So, since getting laid-off, I have been thinking about going back to school. The thing is, I've been thinking about going back for 10 years, but the thought of it always filled me with terror because I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do. Well, I decided to go to Seattle Central and get a certificate in computer networking. My thinking is this: get certified in something that leads to working smart instead of hard. Then, that job can take me back to school for something I really want to do. So anyway, there is a program through Unemployment Insurance called the Commissioner Approved Training Plan that allows one to go to school while still recieving one's unemployment benefits, without having to do the weekly job searches. The program doesn't pay for school, it just allows one to go to school and not have to work. Sounds like a great program, huh?...

Donald Rumsfeld on CNN

8:15AM Pacific Time: Sittin here watchin Wolf interview Rummy on Late Edition, and Rummy is talking about why it's not a good idea to pull out of Iraq right now. He's talking about, and I paraphrase, "If we establish a timeline for pull-out, then we're telling the insurgents that they only have to wait until we're gone, and if we do that, they will wait, and then unleash a blood bath when we're gone." Goddamit, I hate it when I have to agree with one of these trolls. But, sadly, no matter how much we hate the Bush administration, truth, from any source is still truth. And the truth is, the insurgents will wait, and they will unleash a blood-bath. What Rummy doesn't say is, all that will be our fault. I have to say it, though it pains me to do so, I do think it's irresponsible to call for an immediate troop withdrawal from Iraq, because of what I said above. I believe that what the democrats need to keep harping on is the fact that pre-war intell...

Michael Moore's New Movie

Democrats Warm To 'Fahrenheit 9/11' (washingtonpost.com) "The usual arguments against Moore -- that he's intellectually dishonest, that he's a master of the cheap shot, that he's a loudmouthed neo-Marxist boor -- are beside the point against the power of such moments. After the weapons of mass destruction fallacy and the Saddam-did-9/11 fictions, it's payback time. The left can have a Rush Limbaugh, too." -- Lifted from the Artical
